Nadolol

Description:

Nadolol is a beta-adrenergic antagonists, which are non-selective with a long half-life, used in cardiovascular disease to treat arrhythmias, angina pectoris and hypertension. Nadolol is also used for migrant and disturbance to shaking.

Indications:

Used in cardiovascular disease to treat arrhythmias, angina pectoris and hypertension.

Dose:

40 mg by mouth (orally)

May increase the dose every week until 160 mg / day until an adequate reaction has been achieved.

Maximum dose: 240 mg / day

Side Effects:

CNS effects (fatigue, depression, dizziness, confusion, sleep disturbances); Effects of CV (heart failure, heart blockage, cold, impotence in males); consecutive Securities (bronchospasm in patients who are vulnerable & medicines should beta1 used selectively in these patients); Securities GI (N / V, diarrhea, constipation); metabolic effects (can produce hyper or hypoglycemia, changes in serum cholesterol and triglycerides.

Special Instructions:

Berkontra-indications with bradycardia, there formerly high degree AV block, sick sinus syndrome and LV failure is not stable.

Use with caution in patients bronchopasma, asthma, respiratory obstruction or disease. Use with caution with the first block levels, depression, patients with PVD, and patients who use insulin.

Beta-blockers may cover up symptoms of hyperthyroidism and hypoglycemia and may aggravate psoriasis.

Long-term patients should not stop abruptly, to stop gradually over 1-2 weeks.
